Instructions to setup your authenticator app

In order to set up your Authenticator app, you will need to follow a few steps. We will explain each step in detail below.

Step 1: Access the second-factor authentication setup screen

• Create your account and set up your password as the first step. You can find more information on setting up your account and password here
• After setting up your password, Click on the "Authenticator App" option

Step 2: Open or Choose and Install an Authenticator App on your device

• Next you need to either open an Authenticator App on your device, or download one to your device
  
  
• If you have an Authenticator App already, open it on your phone 
  
  
• If you don't have an Authenticator App
  • Search for and install a reputable Authenticator App via your App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android).

Not sure what an Authenticator App is? An Authenticator App is an application that can securely identify your identity to make sure you are who you say you are. Google, Microsoft and Authy are all examples of well known authenticator applications. 

Step 3: Scan the QR code or enter the secret key

• If using a QR code: Open the Authenticator App, and scan the QR code displayed on your WeGuide screen.
• If entering a secret key: Manually enter the secret key provided on the WeGuide screen into the Authenticator App.

Step 4: Generate and Enter the Verification Code

• Your chosen Authenticator App will generate a 6-digit verification code. 
  
  
• You can now enter this code on the WeGuide screen to validate the setup. Ensure accuracy and timely entry as codes expire.

Step 5: Your account is now secured with Two-Factor Authentication

• Your WeGuide account is now fortified with Two-Factor Authentication using an Authenticator App.  Remember to ensure your security - ensure your Authenticator App is up to date, and never share your authentication codes with anyone.
