How to make your form multi-language

A few steps are required to make your form multi-language. We will go through them now.

Step 1: Add supported languages

  • In order to enable multi-language on your form, in the form settings, add the supported languages that you're after by clicking on the input box and selecting them. Select all the languages that you want to add and save your form.

Select the languages that you want to add and save your form to enable multi-language on your form

Step 2: Export your translations

  • On the top of your form, click on the Translations tab. This will take you to a new page from where you can see and edit your translations.
  • In order to translate your form, click on the Export button. An excel file will now be generated which include all the strings that can be translated on your form. This happens in the background. Once the file is ready you can find it in the "Previous Imports/Exports" tab.

Click on export to export the translations from your Form.

Step 3: Add the translations to your excel file

  • Open the Excel file and navigate to the language tabs for which you want to add translations. You will see language tab for the generic form content and a tab for all the all the question.
  • In the excel file, add your translations. In case your content has HTML content, leave the HTML tags intact in order not to disrupt the user interface. The import will work when you will remove the HTML tags, but it will look different compared to the default language.

You can find 2 tabs for each language that you've added, one for the generic form content and one for all the questions. In the columns of these tabs, you can directly translate your content.

Step 4: Import your translations back in

  • Once you're happy with your translations, import them back in by selecting a file and pressing Import.
  • You will get a success message and your translations will process in the background. Please make sure that in the meantime, you don't make any changes to the form, since it could affect the translations. Once your import is completed, the import status will have updated and you can see what translation changes have been processed. In case there were error in your import, the import status will also show this.

Import your translation by selecting the file and clicking on Import

Click on the Previous Imports/Exports to see the status of your import. Once you import has been completed, the message will look like this. Clicking on the link will give you an overview of what has happened during the import.

Step 5: See your translations in the table

  • Once your import has been processed, the Translations Table is updated. Navigate to the language for which you've added your translations and you will be able see what has changed. The translation changes are now live on your form, good job!

Once your import is finished, your translations are visible in the translation table. Select the language and you will see that the translations have been updated.
