How do add local images to your HTML content

In the WeGuide portal, you are able to add HTML content in multiple places. You can, for example, add HTML content in the "instruction" question type, the program information or in the welcome letter. Sometimes you have a local image and you want to add this to your content.  In order to do so, you need to upload the image to the internet first, whereafter you can embed it in the HTML content. This guide explains how you can do this.

Step 1: Upload the image to the internet

There are multiple services available by which you can upload an image to the internet and get a hyperlink back that you can use to embed the images. Make sure that you select one that doesn't remove the image after some time. We recommend the following service for reliability and security:

https://imgbb.com/

In case you want to upload your images, we recommend the following dimensions:

- In case your participants are only using smartphones. Maximum width of 400px

- In case your participants are using smartphones and/or tablets or computers. Maximum width of 600px.

Once you have uploaded your image in IMGBB, you will see the following:

The important part of the Embed code above is the link, which is the section with "https://ibb ... .jpg"

You now have successfully published your image to the internet, good job! Now let's embed it in your content.

Step 2: Embed the image in your content

Go to the location where you want to insert your image and click on Insert - Image.

Now copy in your image link, without all the tags. Your image link will look something like this:

Click on Save and your image is now embedded in your content.
