WeGuide allows you to write your own HTML that can be displayed through the app. Sounds technical, but it's actually quite easy. And also means you can create some really cool looking screens in your WeGuide app.
In this article, we will explain to you how you can add HTML content to the WeGuide portal.
Also - you don't need to use HTML and can edit straight into the WeGuide admin portal. It just creates a more polished / advanced finish if you do use HTML
How to add HTML into WeGuide
In order to use add HTML into WeGuide, you will need to follow a few steps. We will explain each step in detail underneath.
Please note that HTML fields are, similar to other fields, sanitised. So be sure not to insert any formula's, SQL syntax or related in these fields.
Step 1: Open a HTML accessible field
- In WeGuide, certain fields allow HTML input. The fields that have HTML input enabled look like the following and can be recognised by the input bar or by the "Powered by Tiny" text. You can see examples of this below
Example 1: Simple content input
The first field only allows simple formatting (Bold, Italic, Underline and S̶t̶r̶i̶k̶e̶t̶h̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶), it is not relevant to this article

Example 2: Advanced HTML content
This field allows advanced HTML content. We will focus on the advanced HTML content.

Step 2: Start creating your content
- Use the editor to start writing your content. It works similar to a Word document or any other text editor that you've used before.
- If you want to insert headers, for the best user experience, use the headers as provided by the editor. Don't style the headers yourself, our software takes care of it automatically. The headers will be styled in the primary color of the application. See underneath how to do this
How to apply headers in HTML content
- If you want to inject local images or GIF files, please follow the instructions in this article.
- In case you want to inject a YouTube video, click on Insert -> Media, copy the YouTube link, and press Save and your YouTube video will appear in the content

- In the end, a good block of HTML content will look like something underneath. As you can see, the text is not marked up, the headers and paragraphs are not changed and the default styling is used. The app will then use this content and add a nice style to it.
An example of HTML content, use our default built-in styles.
