In this article, we're going to explain how you can manually trigger an engagement to a record. Follow the steps provided.

How to manually trigger an engagement

In order to manually trigger an engagement, following the steps underneath.

Step 1: Click on + Add Manual Engagement the template list view

  • In order to trigger a Manual Engagement, click on the + Add Manual Engagement button on any of the pages underneath
    • Records dashboard
    • Edit program

Click on the + Add Manual Engagement button to start adding an engagement

Step 2: Select the record

You will now see a modal, that looks similar to the interface when you're adding an engagement to the program. The main difference is that you need to select the record(s) for which you want to trigger the engagement.

  • Select the record by clicking in the Select record field. The record of your program will show up, and you will now be able to select one or multiple records.
  • In case you want to add multiple records at once, click on Bulk Select and add them comma separated. Afterwards, press on Add, whereafter they're added

Step 3: Set up your engagement

Now that you've selected your records, you can setup your manual engagement, similarly to how you would normally do it in the program builder. The main difference is that the engagement is always scheduled from the current time, you won't be able to add a condition based on an action or record condition, for example. (Note - scheduling 0 days after current time will schedule the engagement automatically.)

Once you're done, click on Schedule engagement. You will be asked to confirm if you want to send the engagement.

Now that you have triggered your manual engagement, it will show up in the Schedule for the participants that you've selected that belong to the record. In the Schedule, the engagement will be tagged with Manual to indicate that this engagement is setup manually and is not triggered by the Engagement Schedule.

As you can see here, the Asthma Attack form is triggered manually.
